Captain Phillips is an action-thriller movie by Columbia Pictures. Movie plots Captain Richard Phillips who was taken hostage by the somalian pirates near Indian ocean. Richard takes command of an unarmed container ship of Alabama with the orders to sail through Gulf of Aden to Mombasa. Without knowing about the pirates activities, Richard gives orders to enter the area where pirates are mostly active. As guessed, pirates attack on their ship, trying to make every single person on the ship a hostage. Phillips succeed to outrun them. The two skiffs return the next day, while one of them accidentally hears the rescue message transmitted by phillips on the radio. Captain and his crew try to keep pirates away from the ship but they fails. Captain shuts down the ship's engine and tell his crew to hide in the engine room, leaving him in the hands of pirates. Pirates capture captain. Captain tells them about the 30,000$ content in the ship's safe which they can get from the ship. Pirates seek to ransom the ship and crew in return of millions of dollars from the ships company. A crew member ultimately cuts the ship's emergency power which results a total darkness in the lower decks of the ship. The crew members over power the pirate's captain who try to search the engine room. Movie's story comes from the live events of pirates capturing Richard Phillips and his crew for ransom.Runtime --- 2 Hours 23 Minutes
