God Of War Ascension is an action-adventure game by Sony Computers. Game is the sequel to its predecessors and the seventh installment in the game series. Game is based on Greek Mythology and set in Greece where player controls the main protagonist "Kratos" who is a warrior of Sparta. Kratos has been betrayed by God of War Ares to kill his own child and wife. Kratos breaks the blood oath to the good and for this act he has been imprisoned by the three Furies. He has been given punishment. Kratos escape his imprisonment knowing that the three Furies and Ares are trying to overthrow the Mount Olympus. On his escape, he defeats the three Furies, and kills Orkos who is the oath keeper. Kratos suffer from deadly nightmares throughout the game and try to find Ares so that he can avenge him. Gameplay of the game is similar to the other games of the same series. Players main weapons are the blades of chaos and other weapons can also be acquired. The new and advanced combo-based combat has been added to game with which player can perform many more new and extraordinary kills and moves. Game can now also be played in multiplayer mode where more than two players can play the game at the same time. Graphics and textures of the game has been updated to ultra level with new sound effects and high resolutions. Game's controls has been reviewed so that player can easily perform combos and super combos. In some of the situations of the game, player can perform super powered combos and moves. Puzzles has also been added to game and which are not so easy to solve. In the end of each missions, a boss fight is held in which player must kill the boss in order to proceed.
